Reaper Miniatures Burrowing Horror - 77372
I have five of these burrowing horrors to paint up but needed one immediately for a current 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons game Saturday night where a Bulette appears. I quickly threw a paintjob on one of them and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I didn't have enough time to put together anything on the base, so I just glued it on as is.
Speaking of basing, not sure why, but Wizards decided to change the basing of a Bulette from the huge base (3x3) size to a large base (2x2) size in 5th edition. Somewhat annoying, because in order to use my Bulette in a 3.5/Pathfinder game (which I still have going), I'll have to throw the model on top of a three-inch base.
Painting instructions for Burrowing Horror (Bulette):
Step 1: Undercoat model with Stynylrez green primer (this is awesome on bones)
Step 2: Use Rich Indigo on plating
Step 3: Use Ruddy Brown on body
Step 4: Use Ash Grey on toenails
Step 5: Use Concrete Grey on toenails as highlight
Step 6: Use Arctic Grey on toenails as highlight
Step 7: Use Blue Flame on toenails as final highlight
Step 8: Drybrush heavy coat of Twilight Blue on plating
Step 9: Drybrush highlight of Snow Shadow on plating
Step 10: Drybrush final highlight of Blue Flame on plating
Step 11: Drybrush highlight of Sunburn Flesh on body
Step 12: Drybrush final highlight of Dwarven Flesh on body
Step 13: Use Dwarven Flesh on belly
Step 14: Drybrush Fireball Orange on belly
Step 15: Use Entrail Pink on mouth
Step 16: Use Tusk Ivory on teeth
Step 17: Use Solid White as highlight on teeth
Step 18: Use Solid Black on eyes
All paint is Reaper - Twilight Blue and Snow Shadow or from the MSP, the remainder is from the HD line.
Kickstarter paint total: 96 + 1 Burrowing Horror = 97
