- bases - I started to cut away on a couple of the bases and glue them into the round base - it ended being a lot of work which was really unnecessary as these lizardmen (with the exception of the single champion) had really big and thick bases which stood up well on their own - so for the sake of "fast good" I nixed the effort it would take to cut lots of pvc plastic, glue, and fill.
- colors - by reviewing a large number of the various pre-painted model lines by Wizards, Paizo, and Reaper; I came up with blocks of colors which would generate contrast - I tried to minimize too many layers and used a scheme which is the same on all poses.
- learning to say no more or it's done - I started on putting a green stripe with highlight on the backside scales/tail to give it more interest in back as there's a lot of blue - however, I convinced myself after doing a couple - one with highlighting which is on the far left of the above picture - that the effort wasn't worth the gain for the tabletop. Must learn that "fast good" painting uses high contrast and clean, within the lines painting - then call it done.
